As Promotional & A-levels economics exams loom closer on the horizon, intensive revision becomes more and more important. Learning Outcomes and Objectives
The main goal for our Crash Course is to get students ready for their upcoming exams. As such, the main objectives are to:
- Reinforce Core Concepts: By clarifying and reinforcing the fundamental economic theories, students can develop a strong conceptual framework when they take their exams.
- Develop Answering Techniques: By practicing and drilling case study questions and past-year prelim papers, students develop an understanding of the right way to organise their answers and fully answer the question.
- Exam Preparation: Out content will be tailored to prepare them for the examination formats, with tips and strategies to maximise exam performance.
These vital exam skills are strengthened over our two-day course, where we cover both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, ensuring that students have the chance to clear up their doubts and build confidence in their answering skills.
How Do Crash Courses Help?
Our crash course differs from our regular tuition sessions by being completely exam-focused. We provide a highly concentrated revision session that fully prepares a student for an exam. An experienced economics tutor will guide students through past essay questions, help them look out for common pitfalls, and provide strategies for crafting high-scoring answers. These short but intensive sessions provide comprehensive exposure to the topic, ensuring that students can confidently take their tests.

Course Structure, Venue and Schedule
Our Econs Crash Course takes place during the June and September holiday periods, to prepare students for upcoming exams. Crash Courses are conducted strictly in-person, and run from 9:00am – 3:00 pm (approximately 1 hour lunch break) over two half-day lessons. These 5-hour learning sessions are intended to give them a full understanding of what to expect during exams and help reinforce their economics knowledge before they enter the exam hall.
Schedule and format – 4th June (Micro) & 5th June (Macro). A total of 12 curated essays will be covered over a span of 2 days with adequate hands-on practice session –
Day 1:
– 9.00am to 10.30am (Recap of demand & supply, elasticities with exposure of two essay questions)
– 10:30am to 1045am (Q&A)
– 10.45am to 12.15pm (Recap of market failure with exposure of two essay questions)
– 12:15pm to 12.30pm (Q&A)
– 12.30pm to 1.15pm (Break)
– 1.15pm to 2.45pm (Recap of firms and decision [H2] with exposure of two essay questions). H1 students can stay back to attempt the earlier essay questions covered in the morning and ask questions.
– 2:45pm to 3.00pm (Q&A)
Day 2:
– 9.00am to 10.30am (Recap of standard of living, national income indicators with exposure of two essay questions)
– 10:30am to 10.45am (Q&A)
– 10.45am to 12.15pm (Recap of macro aims, goals and policies with exposure of two essay questions)
– 12:15pm to 12.30pm (Q&A)
– 12.30pm to 1.15pm (Break)
– 1.15pm to 2.45pm (Recap of international trade and globalization with exposure of two essay questions). H1 students can stay back to attempt the earlier essay questions covered in the morning and ask questions.
– 2:45pm to 3.00pm (Q&A)

The first day of the course is dedicated to Microeconomics, and the second day is on Macroeconomics, allowing students to prioritise the content that they need extra revision on.
To enhance learning retention, there is a 14-day follow-up period whereby students can raise any questions or clarifications related to the course content.
Fees and Payment
For those who only need a crash course on a specific section of Economics (Micro or Macro), a 1 Day Pass is available. The usual price is $250, but we’re offering an Early Bird Rate at $200 for early signups.
Should your child need a more comprehensive review, the 2 Day Bundle Pass goes at $450, with an Early Bird Rate of $350.
